May 31, 2009 HAT-TRICK HERO Clancy's 3 boosts Express over Flames, 5-0 New Rochelle, N.Y.-- When the team has gotten hot this season, the Newark Ironbound Express has scored goals by the bunches. Thanks in large part to a first-half hat trick by midfielder Kyle Clancy, that was the case today at McKenna Field in Westchester as the Express handed the Westchester Flames a 5-0 defeat in Premier Development League action on Saturday night. The victory propelled the Ironbound Express (4-3-0, 12 points) into a tie for the Northeast Division lead with the Long Island Rough Riders. The Flames fell to 1-2-2. The game was scoreless until playmaking midfielder Jonathan Bilbao set up former Seton Hall captain Victor Kotynski in the 13th minute. The New Jersey City University product maintained his unselfish ways by hooking up Clancy for his first goal only two minutes later. Clancy hit a solo strike in the 22nd minute and completed his hat-trick five minutes later by sending home a Toric Robinson feed. The fifth and final tally came when midfielder Edison Bilbao recorded an unassisted knock in the 65th minute. Express goalkeeper John Steele registered seven saves for the shutout. The Express will look to ride the momentum of this win into a weekend finale against the unbeaten Ocean City Barons (3-0-1) at Lubetkin Field at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, N.J. at 4 p.m. Sunday.
